World first cell phone was sold for $ 3,900

Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, which is known as the first commercially available handheld cell phone, was sold for around $3,900 in 1983. It weighed about a kilogram, measured over 10 inches high, and stored 30 numbers. The phone was developed by Martin Cooper, who is also recognised for making the first ever cell phone call in 1973.
